We have been very busy over the past 2 months, but we are back for 2018, with bigger and better Technology articles. We start off with the first post for the year with the new Samsung Galaxy S9 that was announced at the end of last month at the annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ but with a better camera, stereo speakers and Samsung AR Emoji. It has one feature that stands out and unlike the iPhone X and other phones it still has the headphone jack. Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ have expandable storage up to 400GB and has now 6GB RAM instead of 4GB. In Australia, the Galaxy S9 costs AU$1,199 (64GB); AU$1,349 (256GB) while the S9+ are AU$1,349 (64GB); AU$1,499 (256GB). In our final Tech post for 2017, Apple has confirmed rumors that they have acquired the music tagging Shazam. The app was one of the first apps on the App Store and was very popular, with letting people find out what song they were listening to. The company was purchased by Apple for about $AU531 million. Note that this figure was not reported by Apple but by TechCrunch a Technology news website. For more information see this ABC News article. It has been awhile since we last posted, so we have new tech news from Microsoft. As you may be aware of by now Microsoft has recently announced the new Surface Book 2 that is improved over the Surface Book. It has starts off at $AU2 199 and the entry model has 8 GB of RAM with an iCore 5 and 256GB of storage. It has a new USB- C NIVIDIA 1060 Graphics Card Runs on Windows 10 Pro It is available to Pre-Order now on Microsoft's website and other retailers such as JB Hi FI.
